    Mixed Berry Smoothie

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This mixed berry smoothie is a delicious combination of fruit and soy milk that you can whip up in 5 minutes. It's an excellent choice for breakfast when you need something quick and healthy and also a great afternoon refresher in the summer.

Mixed Berry Smoothie - Easy Healthy Breakfast Or Afternoon Snack

Smoothies are such a great option for breakfast when you have a busy day ahead of you. The past few weeks have been hectic around here and I've been loving this mixed berry smoothie a lot. The thing about smoothies is you can prepare your ingredients ahead of time and whip one up in 5 minutes. I like to keep single portions of mixed fruit in my freezer so that I can easily throw one into the blender with some milk or juice or even just water to make a smoothie. Breakfast doesn't get any more convenient than this, does it?

A Pink Drink That's Perfect For Valentine's Day

Not a massive fan of baking? No problem! This pink drink recipe is perfect for Valentine's Day, especially for breakfast, if it falls on a weekday! Even if it's a weekend, you can still serve this pink smoothie to your partner with other special dishes.

Check out my other super easy pink Valentine's Day drink Nom Yen as well, if you're planning to cook dinner on the day 🙂 This drink also takes like 5 minutes to make and is always a hit in our house!

    Best Natural Smoothie Sweetener

Depending on where and when you get your berries, sometimes they can be sour. The fix for this is pretty simple - a few slices of ripe banana. I usually make this mixed berry smoothie without any artificial sweetener to keep it on the healthier side and find that banana is such a great natural sweetener. Not only does banana help sweeten your smoothie, but it also gives it the creaminess that many of us enjoy.

If you're anything like me and don't like your smoothies way too creamy, you can add one of my favorite smoothie ingredients, which is peach. I think peaches work really well in smoothies and make them really smooth. Adding a few pieces of peach really helps reduce the creaminess of the banana while you can still enjoy its sweetness.

What Kind Of Milk To Use

I use soy milk in this berry smoothie recipe because it's a good plant-based source of protein. Plus, soy milk isn't too thick or too light, so when it's blended with the banana, berries and peach, you get a nice texture. However, if you're not a fan of soy milk, you can definitely replace it with any kind of milk you want.

Secret To Getting A Nice Smoothie Consistency

Freeze your fruit! I do this religiously for my smoothies. Frozen fruit makes smoothies a little thicker and cold without you having to add any ice, which dilutes the flavor of the fruit. I find it hard to enjoy room-temperature smoothies. If you're the same, you'll appreciate this little tip. 🙂

Great tip about freezings the fruit. I really do think that makes a huge difference plus, it's easy to grab it right out of the freezer and blend. Love it!

I swear by having frozen fruit in, so handy for things like smoothies. I really like the idea of having peach as a base to deter from the banana. Such a nice flavour to have. A perfect breakfast that is also so very pretty.

I start most days with a smoothie which often includes berries (fresh or frozen) . I've never made smoothies with soy milk. I want to try that. Yours looks so good!
