Passion Fruit & Coconut Water Tropical Smoothie

a glass of passion fruit and coconut water tropical smoothie

You know that feeling you get when you come back from a vacation and you feel like having a light (probably liquid) breakfast the next day? This is exactly what happened to me this morning. I just got back from my nine-day vacation yesterday. Although I really did enjoy some time off, I realized I ate way too much during those days. I mean, when traveling, one’s gotta try out new foods and indulge in those they enjoy, right?

Once you’re finally home, it’s so easy to think, Alright, I’m gonna start eating healthily right away to get back on track. And when you’re exhausted from the trip and flight home, you’re automatically all about quick and easy. Oftentimes this quick and easy means a smoothie because it’s the easiest thing in the world to make, and it’s just so refreshing and (mostly) healthy. Also, it comes in handy when you probably don’t have much left in the fridge after you’ve been away.

Today I opened my freezer and found that I had frozen passion fruit and pineapple juice cubes. So, I blended the two with coconut water and ended up with an amazing tropical breakfast smoothie that totally woke me up with its sweet and sour taste. Man, it was like the perfect tropical welcome-home, except sadly I was the one who welcomed myself back. 😂😂  Such a lovely healthy smoothie combo and I highly recommend you try it! Honestly, you just can’t go wrong with passion fruit, pineapple juice and coconut water.

My Smoothie Tip

Some people like to add ice to their smoothies, but I like to freeze my fruits and sometimes even juices for mine. This way, the flavors don’t get diluted in the ice/water. Also, I notice that frozen fruits and juices tend to give smoothies a more pleasant consistency. Of course, if you prefer not to freeze your ingredients, then obviously don’t freeze them. Apart from what I’ve mentioned, I unsurprisingly really enjoy my smoothies cold because I live in Thailand. You feel free to do you but just make sure you have some sort of liquid (preferably juice or milk) to blend the frozen ingredients together.

Have a tropical one!

I just went through my rain forest near my house and gathered pineapples, passion fruit and coconuts ! This recipe sounds perfect. And all my ingredients we’re sourced rite at home. So it’s all free! Thanks again I’m going to make one now!

I never use ice in smoothies, but I hadn’t thought of freezing the fruit. That would be a way to make it more exciting!
