Berry Chia Pudding

Is there anything better than waking up to a breakfast that tastes like dessert? I don’t think so! This stuff never fails to live up to its name. Chia pudding is a real pudding! And, I, for one, will never say no to pudding for breakfast!

This berry chia pudding is a very refreshing and healthy breakfast – a great start to your day. As it’s super quick and easy to make and also works as an excellent make-ahead breakfast, it’s perfect for those of you who don’t have much time in the morning to prepare breakfast during the weekdays, or those just like something they can grab and go yet still healthy and delicious.

Want to know how quick it is? Well, it takes less than five minutes to put together! Another thing that’s good to know is that just like my almond milk overnight oats and cacao nibs overnight oats, chia pudding will keep in the fridge for about five days. If you prepare the chia pudding five times the recipe and enough yogurt and fruit or any other toppings you like to make five chia puddings, that’s breakfast sorted for a week!

Chia Pudding With Yogurt

There are many ingredients you can use to layer up your chia pudding. Some use granola, some use nuts and seeds. But this recipe uses yogurt. Not just any yogurt, but a strawberry yogurt because it’s a berry chia pudding!

Well, actually you can use any kind of yogurt you want. It’s delicious and healthier with Greek yogurt and a bit of honey. But if you want something a bit more indulging, something a bit more special for certain occasions like Valentine’s Day, this pink berry chia smoothie is a great option for Valentine’s Day breakfast!

I’m just a big fan of yogurt and berries myself and can’t resist a cute pink breakfast, so I just go with strawberry yogurt. Other than that, fresh fruit is almost always a must. it makes the chia pudding more interesting and also provides the fiber, minerals and vitamins that are good for your health.

I use blueberries and raspberries here because again, I’m a huge fan. If you don’t like berries or happen to have something else in your fridge or kitchen, of course, you can use that. You can top it with any kind of fruit you want. The possibilities are endless and it’s really hard to go wrong. Some other variations I would recommend are mango, kiwi, cherry and cape gooseberry.

A Healthy Dessert Or Snack

Because of everything I said above, there’s no doubt that this berry chia pudding would make a healthy dessert or afternoon snack. Don’t think you just need to have it at breakfast time. You can whip up one or grab the make-ahead version in your fridge when you feel like you need an afternoon pick-me-up or a dessert to complete your meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of chia seeds
  • 3 ½ tablespoons of milk (any kind you want)
  • 1.76 ounces of strawberry yogurt (or more)

Notes About The Milk And Yogurt

I use real milk and yogurt in this recipe, but you can definitely make it dairy-free or vegan by using a plant-based or vegan milk and yogurt. Note that some types of milk are lighter than others so your choice of milk might affect the consistency of your chia pudding. You can add less or more of it to get your preferred consistency.

Thanks for the tip! It seems to be not only very easy and quick to make but healthy, too. Really perfect for breakfast. Especially that my daughter loves all kind of berries.
