If there’s one thing I don’t think I would have survived childhood without, it’s gotta chicken deep fried chicken wings. My mom used to make a really good Thai version (which we will have a recipe for in another post soon!) for my siblings and me all the time when we were kids, and now she even likes telling people we grew up living on them. ? I guess it’s hard to find a child who doesn’t like fried chicken.
Now that I’m all grown up and can afford an oven, guess what’s better than deep fried chicken wings? Baked, people! Baked chicken wings! That said, I don’t mean I don’t eat fried foods or fried chicken at all because I still do. But I don’t normally deep fry things at home. If I crave deep fried chicken wings and I have time to cook, I just bake. These chicken wings are actually also a great football party finger food. You can bake a lot of them in one batch when you have friends coming over.
I should also add that I like to serve my chicken wings with potato and sweet potato wedges cooked in an air fryer. That way you don’t need to worry about the oil. Plus homemade fries always taste better than processed, even when air-fried. Speaking of my air fryer, I’ve had it for a good while. Although they may seem a little pricey, I think they’re totally worth the money. With one, you buy and consume less oil. There’s nothing better to invest in than your health, right?
Now back to the wings! This recipe is so delicious and super easy to make. The ingredient list might look long but really they are so basic that you should already have most of them, if not all. And the bonus for this recipe is that it’s totally mess-free! Once you’re done cooking, a spatula, a pot and a baking sheet are all you need to clean! Tell me what’s not to like about this?
So the next time you cook chicken wings either just for yourself or also for your family and friends, be sure to give this recipe a try. You’ll definitely love it! Oh and if you want to have it the Asian way, just eat the wings with rice. ? You might like it, who knows?Print
