Avocados are expensive stuff. Every time I see them on sale, I can’t help but jump for joy. But that joy used to end as soon as I realized I had too many avocados ripening at the same time. However, I’ve found the ultimate answer for us all.. and that’s crispy baked avocado fries!
If you’re sick of the avocado toast you’ve been having for four days in a row and you’re still nowhere near finishing those avocados that are about to go bad, you need this baked avocado fries recipe in your life. Served with ketchup or any dipping sauce of your choice, these fries are a perfect afternoon snack. Or even a perfect party food…if you’re willing to sacrifice 3/4 of your salary. Not to mention that they’re so easy to make and only need about 20 minutes in the oven. With this recipe, all of your avocados will be gone before you know it!
Keep in mind that although these fries are packed with nutrients and are a healthier alternative to french fries, avocados are naturally high in fat. Regardless of the fact that it’s good fat, avocados should still be consumed in moderation.Print
Baked Avocado Fries Recipe
A healthy avocado snack anyone will enjoy.
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 20 minutes
- Total Time: 30 minutes
- Yield: 1 avocado 1x
- Method: Baking
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Juice of ½ lime
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 egg beaten
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- Ketchup (to serve)
- Preheat oven to 200°C and grease a sheet pan with oil.
- Squeeze lime juice over the avocado slices to preserve the bright green color.
- Season the avocado slices with salt. Then, dip them in the egg and coat in the breadcrumbs.
- Bake until golden brown (around 15-20 minutes) and serve with ketchup.
